During the course we were given different assignment to show our creativity and think of new ideas to solve different problems. For example, we were given an assignment where we would have an incomplete picture that only had different lines and we had to use that to draw different pictures to make up a story. We also where put in group to create something using only dry pasta, and play-do. In my group we created flowers with play-do and used the dry pasta as stems. The final look of the project was very pretty and the idea’s we put together made it look more like an art piece. This course has helped me to develop my creativity and opened my thinking process.

I had really enjoyed this course because I was able to expand my creativity and developed my critical thinking process by using different process to complete my assignments. As well as the amount of acceptance and support my classmates had with each other during our individual 5-minute presentations. Which gave us an opportunity to work on our public speaking and show our creativity to others. As well I got to see other people different ideas and approaches to our assignments that helped me to see how a group of people can have many different ideas to one topic.

 

What I have learned:

1. Develop my thinking to form new ideas and think outside of the box to solve different problems.

2. Use different models such as the scamper model to develop ideas or create new projects.

3. Expand my thinking process to create new idea’s or solutions to problems.

 

In moving forward with what I have learned in this course I able to work more critical think when have an assignment or a project to do. I am also able to use the different creativity models such as scamper in developing my existing idea that I have currently. In the future I will have many projects and problems in my life. To be able to have an open mind to think up new idea’s to help and to critically think on the spot would benefit fit me in not only my school work but in my future workplace as well.

Artifact: Invention Project

When I was assigned my task to create an invention project I was asked to use the scamper model to help with my developing my idea. Which was very helpful for me do take my idea I had and develop it more by going through the different steps in the scamper model. Such as going through the process of substitute, combine, added, modify, put to other use, eliminate, and reverse or rearrange my idea. Especially when I wouldn’t have thought any of these idea without doing the scamper model process. To help me to critically think about my idea and solve any problems I might have with my idea.
