Undergraduate Competency:
Accessing and Analyzing Information
SMART Goal:
Starting next semester, I’ll go to the library and learn how to use the Sheridan’s database from the librarians and use the study guides for research papers and projects for class that they provide online once a week.
Progress/Plan:
I plan on finding a new article on a different topic each week from one of my classes or for personal use. Then read it, save it and file it away to keep track of my progress for my first semester. By the end of the semester I would like to review the articles I have found and save it on a USB stick, so I would have more room on my computer to have articles for next semester.
Undergraduate Competency:
Effective Communication
SMART Goal:
Next semester I will work on my verbal communication by doing more presentations and public speaking during classes.
Progress/Plan:
I would like to work on my communication when I am doing group discussions and when the teacher is asking for participation which is difficult for me right now. I plan to answer the teacher’s questions at lease three times for every class.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
SMART Goal:
Next semester I am going to work on my critical thinking and problem solving by working on my homework and studying more to help me in solving my problems.
Progress/Plan:
When I am work on in class problems I plan on using the six-hat method which I have trouble doing now to help me work out a problem. To help me track it I plan on writing the problem and my process of solving down in one of my notebooks and to show case my work over the semester too.
