Collaboration and Leadership
In my internship in 2018 for the Creative Campus Galleries as a programming assistant. We were planning on having an interactive art piece with plants as a part of their ground exhibit and need some help taking care of the plants. So, she sent an email to the faculty of Sheridan and we got over 30 responses. So as the assistant curator decided to create a reading nook where we place plants that the faculty would foster the plant for the summer then it would be placed in the reading nook for the winter semester. Which she placed me and the other interns in charge of the program. Since I was the programming assistant, I took the lead and coordinated the other interns respectively. We did many phone calls to gain more information from the participants. Like how much sunlight is in their office space, where can we drop the plants off, and which campus are they located in. Then I created informational materials on how to take care of the plants and thank you card with input from my team. Then we delivered the plants to the participants together across the three Sheridan campuses. To help the program better I spit up the emails equal among my team’s members to contact the participants faster and scheduled when we would call them for the delivery and pickup. Then I compiled the information into sections based on their location and type of plants they would like. Then I led the team during the delivery and pick up on each of the campuses. While making updates to our plans during the program. The results were great because the plants were healthy for the reading nook and many visitors loved the reading nook and the idea of having the foster a plant program and being apart of the exhibit. As evidence, I have added the foster a plant profile description that I made to give the participates of the program. These descriptions I made to be a fun way by creating plant profiles for each plant so that the participates learn how to take care their plants. I also added the thank you card I made for the participates of the program to showcase the program I helped made with my co-workers.
